Our Mission

The University of Arizona College Republicans have several key ongoing goals:

First and foremost, the UA College Republicans compose a grassroots campaign base to support Republicans running for public office on the city, state, and national levels.

The UA College Republicans also provide a conservative presence on our campus. In today's universities it is more important than ever for Republicans to maintain a strong presence on our nation's college campuses.

Finally, we are trying to spread the fundamental views of conservatism throughout our campus. We believe the following:

"We should be allowed to say "one nation under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. (91 percent of Americans agree)

Able-bodied people on welfare should be required to work. (87 percent agree)

The United States should put its own interests first and cooperation with international organizations second. (73 percent believe)

Proud to be an American. (91 percent agree)

Everyone in America should learn English. (81 percent agree)" 1

We strive to create a society that is based on free-enterprise and personal initiative, with a small governmental role, rather than a large government that people depend upon for their well-being. As Ronald Reagan said in his 1981 inaugural address, "All of us need to be reminded that the federal government did not create the states, the states created the federal government. ...Government is not the solution to our problem."

Read a message from our club's President or view the Club Constitution.
